    The Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage is the guest of the program (From My Experience) in Asharqia Chamber

    Sultan bin Salman: The Kingdom is moving towards leadership and excellence led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques


    On Tuesday 16 October 2018, Prince Sultan bin Salman spoke on a night of three hours within the program (From My Experience) that was organized by Asharqia Chamber at its headquarter, which is  one of the programs of the Young Businessmen Council in the Chamber.

    The interview was attended by the Deputy Amir of the Eastern Region His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahad bin Abdullah, His Highness Prince Saud bin Sultan bin Abdullah, and the Undersecretary of the Eastern Province Dr. Khalid Al-Batal.


    His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, stressed the strength of the Kingdom with its sons and daughters. He pointed out that the Saudi citizen is the main partner in the construction of the history of this country since its beginnings in the era of the first Saudi state.

    He said that the Kingdom has been and is keen to develop the capabilities of the Saudi citizen and refining their talents. He stressed the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to support the Saudi citizen through many programs provided by the State through its institutions.

    He also stressed the importance of keenness to identify the heritage of this country and the history of sites and the lines of our ancestors the created the most important epics. 

    He emphasized that the State is moving towards leadership and excellence led by the father of all, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. 


    The meeting witnessed the presence of members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber and a number of businessmen and businesswomen business, academics and interested individuals.

    During the meeting, Prince Sultan bin Salman said that the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage was based on the arms of the sons of this nation and was able through them to promote and manufacture the achievement, although it started with limited resources and energies. He said, “this is the best proof of the insistence of the Saudi citizen on the industry of glory.”


    His Highness pointed out the importance of knowing the history of this precious country. It is rich in civilization and history, and it was and still is a great nation by all standards.

    He pointed to the importance that the children of today know what their ancestors and the solid base that they built so that this country will rise and develop.

    He stressed the need for the citizen to know what the other citizen made of the sacrifices and achievements; what is presented today is not new, but is an extension of the history made by the heroes of this homeland.


    On his experience, he said that he lived a real life full of heritage as a generation not yet known the virtual life that is imposed by the technological revolution. He moved between various activities such as horseback riding, hunting and falconry. This is what has earned His Highness the historical background and the rich heritage base, which gradually guided His Highness to lead the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage.

    He stressed on a series of events and achievements and education in his personal life before taking the office.

    He emphasized that the tourism sector has become one of the most important economic resources of countries.


    His Highness praised the role of women in the renaissance of the homeland, as women in the Kingdom have been and remains an important element in support of the Kingdom's march and its essence and progress on various fields.

    He talked about his personal life and the roles of his parents, Her Highness Prince Sultanah Al-Sudairy, along with his father the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, in building his personality and making him a human being.

    His father asked him to receive guests from the elders, dignitaries and state officials at the age of ten.

    He also talked about his work in the Ministry of Information during the time of its former minister, HE Mr. Mohammad Abdo Yamani, and how he influenced this period and the stage in his life and contributed to his maturity and friction with society.


    On the space trip, His Highness talked about some of the stations that contributed to his arrival in this important trip through his study of aviation.

     The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, adopted this dream and sought to achieve it. He was a strong supporter of this project.


    After the implementation of the agreement to launch the 2nd Arab satellite between NASA and Arabsat, known as the Arab Organization for Satellite Communications, in 1982, ArabSat asked the Kingdom to nominate its representative on the space flight to launch the moon; as one of the main contributors to its launch project.

    In 1985, the Saudi Ministry of Defense and Aviation opened the door for this space flight for Saudi pilots. The results ended with the nomination of three pilots, one of whom was Prince Sultan bin Salman.

    After NASA obtained the results from the Saudi Ministry of Defense and Aviation, Prince Sultan bin Salman chose to be the primary candidate for the trip, and was subjected to intensive training. On June 17, 1985, the shuttle Discovery, aboard which Prince Sultan bin Salman and six astronauts, was launched.  The eight-day voyage had several important scientific experiments. On the eighth day, the space shuttle returned to Edwards, California.

    Prince Sultan stayed in the United States for two weeks after the trip, and NASA awarded him the lead medal. His Highness and the Saudi Scientific team returned to the homeland by a special plane ordered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, to Taif.


    On the experience of the Disabled Children’s Association that has become a leader in the Kingdom and the world, His Highness said that the Association today owns 14 centers, and its charitable and investment projects were amounting to one billion riyals that are applying the rules of governance.


    During the meeting, HH said that the latest achievements of the Commission was obtaining the certificate of achievement of the global Microsoft in recognition of its efforts in the unique "Hologram E-Trip" project at GITEX Dubai in collaboration with Microsoft.

    The Hologram trip is an unprecedented global achievement for the Commission in digital transformation, and this proves that “we are ready citizens that accept and overcome challenges.”


    He added that the  Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has achieved, along with its electronic achievements, countless achievements on the ground, perhaps the least change the thought of the people to accept tourism and participate in the industry and development and achieve satisfactory results for all.

    His Highness gave advice to young men and women entrepreneurs to be keen to be the employee as he/she is the institution and to provide various programs for the employee and the development of capabilities, and jumps to produce the highest levels.

    He added, ”Visit the different areas of your country and know the people and you will learn what you cannot find in the various training programs.”



    For his part, Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Abdulhakeem bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khaldi, said that His Royal Highness Prince «Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz», the Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, is leading a national role in promoting the tourism industry and the national cultural heritage. He provides a benchmark in driving and managing a multi-track production sector, crawling to the forefront of the world's economic sectors and at the top of our vision's objectives to be a strong pillar of our national economy.

    Al-Khalidi said that Asharqia Chamber has paid special attention to successful and inspiring national experiences in various fields and placed them on its awareness agenda in order to motivate and encourage our young business men and women and sharpen their minds and expand their knowledge.

    Al-Khalidi pointed out that the Chamber, which holds this program year after year, will be hosted representatives of successful experiences throughout this blessed land.

    This affirms its belief in the importance of recognizing the new generations of successful pioneer experiences and drawing lessons from the attitudes and challenges they faced, and how they overcome them. This undoubtedly helps to develop their abilities and skills in planning well for their future and helping them to redress their choices towards a better future.

    Al-Khalidi said that Prince Sultan's experience is a rich experience with expertise and knowledge in a number of fields, as it is an honor to us (Muslims and Arabs) in the world of civil aviation, military and astronauts.

    HH also is a model of a unique leadership and management experience in taking the lead, walking at a steady pace and clear scientific bases, through which he can restructure the tourism industry in the Kingdom and draw its methodology and unified its plan in all regions according to the nature and characteristics of each region separately.

    This is needed today and tomorrow to help the new generation to realize this pure national experience that is to chronicle and at the same time provide a real summary of lessons for a multi-talented success story.



    For his part, Chairman of the Chamber of Young Businessmen Council, Abdullah bin Faisal Al-Breikan, said that Asharqia Young Businessmen  Council has a growing role in developing the future entrepreneurs of the region by monitoring their experiences, ideas and innovations to reflect them in value added investment projects in the national economy.

    Over the past years, the Board has made many achievements in serving the youth business sector by enriching their economic knowledge and increasing their skills in self-employment.

     So that - and thankfully -  is part of the expansion of the various programs, which we are one of them today, has a broad presence among the business sector Young Businessmen in the Eastern Region.

    With this new phase of the life of the homeland, and this unique vision of our governors, and with the determination to drive growth and development towards diversification, continuity and sustainability, today's meeting with HRH Prince Sultan comes as a support for us as a young businessmen towards further giving, participating and contributing positively to the creation of a supportive economic environment that will be responsible in keeping up with the aspirations of our civilized goals,  “A vibrant society, thriving economy and an ambitious nation.”



    In conclusion, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman received a souvenir gift presented by the Chairman of Asharqia Chamber Abdul Hakim Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, in the presence of the Deputy Emir of the Eastern Region His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman, and the Chairman of the Young Businessmen Council Abdullah Al-Breikan and his deputies Abdullah al-Dabbib and Fahad Al-Faraj.
